What is Yoga?
Many people confuse yoga as being flexible. Flexibility is a benefit from yoga, but is not why we practice. Yoga is a Sanskrit word translated as “yoke” or “union.” To yoke means to draw together, to bind together; or to unite. Its aim is to yoke or create a union of the body, mind, soul, and universal consciousness. This process of uniting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves is what allows yogis to experience deep states of freedom, peace and self-realization.
I’m new to yoga. Where should I start?
We suggest signing up for a Gentle or Slow Flow class to ease your way into this practice. Gentle introduces basic poses in a relaxing manor where slow flow adds a little more heat, which can be slightly more of a challenge.
Do you offer Hot Yoga?
During our Vinyasa classes, in the winter the temperature is raised to 90 degrees.
What should I bring?
You should bring a mat and water. We offer mats for sale or rent if needed.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing. During class we may practice inversions, so it is advised to wear something underneath your shirt and shorts that you wouldn’t mind showing.
Can I eat before class?
It is not recommended to eat anything an hour prior to class.
Do you offer private classes?

Do you have a place where I can change clothing?

What if I running late?
If you are running late, please still come. Class will be in session so just be mindful as you enter.
What about parking?
Downtown SCS parking can be difficult right in front of the studio. It is advised to park down the road or across the street if needed.
How much yoga experience do I need?
You need no yoga experience to join 🙂
How do I cancel my recurring membership?
A yogi can not stop a recurring membership themselves. The yogi is able to contact the studio to cancel a membership by going to their schedule and look up the membership. The yogi will see a button to cancel the membership. This will lead to a message which is going to be sent to your studio to request cancelation.
