Teen Yoga Series – Stepping Into Your True Self
Teenagers are unique humans and deserve their own Yoga category. Life can be challenging and teens are under a lot of stress, pressure to fit in, succeed, be confident and develop healthy habits. Practicing Yoga is much more than an exercise regime. For teens, it is an effective tool for developing self-knowledge through awareness of the deep connection between the body and mind. Yoga opens pathways for recognizing personal power and discovering the potential of the body.
Yoga is a system of betterment and very much about reaching your full potential. Each session in the series will layer shared experiences themed through the psychology of shapes that support and build confidence, compassion and creativity.
This series was carefully designed for teens to explore Yoga from different perspectives, infusing many expressive and reflective activities, while having so much FUN along the way.
The series will involve looking within, learning how to sit in silence and find their inner voice. They will create a vision board throughout the series of what makes them happy. They will also be doing light poses and expressive activities like using their voice through improv.
Available for ages 12+
This is a 4 week series meeting Mondays at 11am:
- July 10 11am – 12:30pm
- July 17 1am – 12:30pm
- July 24 1am – 12:30pm
- July 31 1am – 12:30pm

This series is led by Angela Ferrera. Angela has been teaching yoga since 2001. She is a certified children’s yoga teacher and has certifications from Yoga Kids and Radiant Child. She has experience teaching and leading many different yoga and wellness workshops/classes for kids and teens in St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe. She specializes in connecting with children in an approachable, safe and compassionate way.
